Upper eyelid surgery is a surgical procedure aimed at reducing excess skin, sagging, and a heavy appearance that develop around the eyes over time. Also known as blepharoplasty, this operation helps address excess skin tissue, particularly in the upper eyelid, to achieve a more balanced appearance. The goal is to create a more rested, open, and natural-looking eye area without changing the overall facial expression.
Upper eyelid surgery before and after photos provide a better understanding of the changes that can be achieved through the procedure. Before surgery, images may show excess skin accumulation on the upper eyelid, loss of definition in the eyelid crease, or sagging that makes the eyes appear more tired. After surgery, the aim is to create a more defined upper eyelid contour and visually reduce the appearance of heaviness around the eyes.
Blepharoplasty results may vary depending on the patient’s age, skin structure, anatomy around the eyes, degree of existing excess skin, and healing process. Therefore, the same appearance should not be expected in every patient. Surgical planning is carried out while preserving the individual’s facial proportions and natural eye structure.
During the initial period after upper eyelid surgery, swelling, mild bruising, and edema may occur. As these effects gradually decrease over time, the final appearance of the eyelid becomes more defined. When evaluating before & after photos, the amount of time that has passed between surgery and the photographs should also be taken into consideration.
The upper eyelid surgery before and after photos below are shared to illustrate the changes that may occur around the eyes following blepharoplasty through real patient results. Results may vary from person to person.
